Haven on Earth
    Shining if finishing . . .

38. Shine now

Do you believe a group could have considered itself complete? What stands without the group? Does completeness expect of itself to complete another not itself? Or perhaps completeness is relative? Perhaps the path toward completeness will include the path at its outset? What is faith? In what have faith? Imagine travelling along a path, resting here and there. Why move? Why stay? If you wish to go somewhere, then how? Perhaps you would like to stay, in which case why? There is no need to discuss this if we agree. Do we agree? To what degree do we agree? Are we in our little agreement just you me?

'EVERY CONTROVERSY THAT IS FOR THE SAKE OF HEAVEN, THE OUTCOME OF IT WILL ENDURE . . . AND WHICH CONTROVERSY WAS NOT FOR THE SAKE OF HEAVEN? THE CONTROVERSY OF KORACH AND ALL OF HIS EYDAH.' AVOT:5.

The analogy of 'for the sake of Heaven' can you explain it in other terms? If you have done so now and again, can you explain also why you use varying terms? As far as I can see, the heaven reaches the horizon in all directions. It continues to do so when I mark my horizon to arrive there. It seems the horizon moves with the sky, and the earth, it meets the sea, and the waters, another land, another people. If the sky here is the same sky there, can this people agree with me on one sky? I wonder if they have seen THIS sky before, as I have done. No, the earth is one under the sea, they said to me. I asked them why. We have learnt to live together. We are dwellers of the earth even when we navigate the sea by way of THAT, your sky, they said to me. If I have not learnt to live in harmony with others close to me, can we agree on the sky? Do we need the sky, if you will not live with me? Let us see. If I do not live with you in your harmony, then let the sky be the truth, and let us travel and see. And if yours be the way, now in the midst of you will you stay. Until all peoples will have seen the whole way we can not join you, though you may.

'MOSHE RECEIVED THE TORAH . . . HILLEL AND SHAMMAI, THEY RECEIVED IT . . . HILLEL SAID, . . . BUT BRING THEM CLOSER TO TORAH . . . SHAMMAI SAID, MAKE YOUR TORAH FIXED . . .' AVOT.

The everlasting Tradition, parenthood growing more parents. At present, like Hillel, as we can see, and in the future let it be as Shammai sees. We have to agree together completely one day eventually. Ending to dwell on a new beginning.
